It is hard to find a hotel that has all of the qualities you are looking for, such as being convenient and luxurious, along with having nice perks and an amazing staff. The Giacomo goes above and beyond, exceeding expectations. This is my breakdown as to why I recommend you staying here when you visit Niagara Falls.
The Giacomo is located near every place you’d want to go to in Niagara. It is a short walk to the falls and other attractions such as Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds and even to the bridge, just in case you want to stroll over to Canada. Check out all of the things to do on the USA side, which are all close to the hotel.
It is also around the corner from Old Falls Street which has shopping, restaurants and street festivals in the summer. There are other fun things to do along that street such as rent bikes, play outdoor life-sized board games and listen to weekend outdoor concerts. After you walk down Old Falls Street, you arrive at the Seneca Niagara Casino in case you want to do a bit of gambling while you are there.
This luxury boutique hotel is drenched in elegance with its fun designs and spacious rooms. The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made it impossible for us to get up in the morning. We never wanted to leave from our cozy covers!
It was also a relief to have a big bathroom and full length mirror. Two girls trying to get ready in one tiny bathroom is never fun!
The Sky View Lounge on the 14th floor has a great view of Ontario and the falls. It also has the perfect view for the fireworks and illuminations at night.
There is a lounge on the first floor which has a bar, couches and a fireplace. Happy hour is from 5pm-7pm and they even have special nights such as live music on Fridays and a Ladies Night on Wednesdays. I even hung out there in the day, watching television on the couch while I was waiting for my flight, since I was already checked out.
There are many great perks in this hotel. They offer free valet service, so you don’t have to worry about finding a parking spot. You can just pull up and someone comes out to take care of parking for you. Call ahead before you go down and your car will be outside waiting. When you arrive back you can enjoy some free cookies which are laid out in the lobby every evening.
Breakfast is included which is a variety of fruits, eggs, fresh made waffles, potatoes, bacon, sausage.. all of the typical things you would want to have before a big day out.
On Fridays and Saturdays, the Sky View Lounge has a sunset toast where you get free wine while you watch the sun go down and wait for the nightly shows over the falls.
We had a lot of questions during our stay, because my friend Melissa forgot her phone and I had no more data, so we felt completely lost. It is sad how reliant we are on cell phones and the internet nowadays! No matter how many times we bugged the staff for more information, they happily gave us suggestions on where to go/eat, wrote down directions and called to arrange rides. One person even called his friends, trying to find out what nightlife was popular for dancing. As we would leave and enter the hotel, they wouldn’t just greet us, but ask us how our experiences were going and if we needed anything else. There were times when we would just hangout and chat with the staff at the front desk after we came back to the hotel.
It was a pleasure to stay here and I would do it again without any hesitation. The great experience we had in the hotel truly added to our trip and made our vacation even better!
