Once in a while I like to get out of the chaotic hustle of cities and stay in a nice, tranquil and peaceful resort. It is nice to get away from the loud disturbances from overcrowded streets and beaches. At Panwa Beach Resort Phuket, your stay will be complete bliss as you have a beach away from the tourists and their sometimes polluted sand. It is truly the perfect place to relax and unwind as everything you need for the perfect beach vacation is right on the property. That being said, if you want to visit the nearby attractions such as the Big Buddha and Wat Chalong Temple, the concierge service can hire a driver for you.
The infinity pool, which overlooks the beach, is truly stunning. There is also a jacuzzi located inside a tikki style hut, which looks out to the ocean. I spent the day bouncing back and fourth between the beach and pool area so much that the only time I wasn’t in the water or sunbathing was when I was stopping to eat! The pool bar has smoothies and snacks that are more than sufficient enough to keep you fueled throughout the day. Instead of eating outside, I took a break from the sun and went to the Panwa Beach Resort Phuket restaurant, Baan Thai, where I had croque-monsieur while staring out to a fabulous view.
Baan Thai has a great variety of cuisines including French, Western and Thai. It was hard to choose! Thankfully, I was visiting long enough to try several different options. I had a salmon dish which was paired with a cold soup; I never had anything like it before! My sweet tooth always gets the best of me, so I had to try the ahhhhmazing blueberry cheesecake as well. Since it is Thailand, of course a great dish to try would be the massaman chicken curry if you want something authentic.
Breakfast is included, so make sure you wake up in time to try the buffet. There are many options such as fresh omelets and pastries, as well as traditional Thai breakfast food. I like to stick to the basic, lighter American favorites, so I went right to the egg station.
A great thing to do if you want a break from the sun is to head over to the spa. They even have a nice selection of treatments on the beach if you prefer. I needed to get the knots out, so I went for the Thai massage. I felt so much better afterwards!! If you want to spend the evening lounging, you can go to the Lantern Pub for a lovely mojito or even play some pool.
After a long day, you’ll have a comfortable room to return to. Not only is it comfortable, but you will wake up every morning to either a stunning beach or garden view. I had a balcony with a garden view that you would have a hard time finding at hotels in the city area. Most of the time I end up with a view of a wall or rooftops, so this was a nice change, proving you can’t beat a beach resort!
*Thank you Panwa Beach Resort Phuket for hosting me. As always, my opinions are my own.
