We all love visiting the Las Vegas Strip. Who wouldn’t? It has everything you need whether you are there for the gambling, nightlife, shows, food, etc. There are even fun things to do in Vegas for free (yes, they exist!). However, there’s plenty to do off of the Las Vegas Strip. It’s time to break away and explore more this fabulous city! Not only will you have a blast but you get to enjoy a unique Vegas experience.
Bring out the kid in you at container park – This unique park is made up of shipping containers and is full of shopping, dining, and live entertainment. The container playground is in the heart of it all. Fun for both kids and adults, it is interactive and has a treehouse!
Explore downtown Vegas – Visit where it all started! This area has its own mini strip full of things to do such as zip lining, museums, gambling (of course!), restaurants and bars. It is very close and you can take a cab or bus here.
Check out the Mob Museum – Learn about the iconic mobsters that once ran this city. There are also presentations, artifacts and interactive exhibits. I even got to try my skills at weapons training, hunting down criminals!
Take a day trip – There are tons of nearby places to visit such as the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and even Death Valley, CA. You can even spend night away and go a little further to Zion National Park. These require much more time as they are a lot further from the strip. Luckily, there are many tour companies that go or you can rent a car.
Hike at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area– Even though its only 30 minutes from the strip, you feel like you are in a whole other world. Many people go for hikes but if you are not much of a hiker, you can also drive to different observation spots for some scenic views. There are many different spots to stop at and each one is completely different from each other. You can easily rent a car or even book a tour.
Go on a helicopter ride – I went on one that took me over the Las Vegas Strip, Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. It was an amazing experience that cannot be missed! Don’t believe me? Check out some stunning photos from my tour!
EAT – There are incredibly delicious restaurants that many people miss out on because they don’t leave the hotels! Some of my favorites are The Peppermill where you can get delicious oversized meals, Chart House for mouth-watering seafood and Hofbräuhaus for German food and beer. Here is a great list of restaurants both on and off the strip that will leave you full and satisfied.
