I wanted to take a cruise around Langkawi and stumbled upon a cruise from a company called Crystal Yacht, which had the option of a dinner buffet during sunset with unlimited drinks… I was sold! Although it is marketed as a sunset dinner cruise in Langkawi, the cruise actually begins while the sun is still shining over the Andaman Sea, so you can stare in awe at the stunning scenery as it passes you by, before you get the beautiful sunset. Perfection!
I chose to lay at the front of the boat for some tanning, but I also had the option to go to the back of the boat and hangout in the net “bed” that is attached. If you sit in the net as the boat is moving, it feels like a natural sea jacuzzi! I was just about able to keep my drink (which was the most important thing) in my hand as I floated along. The staff is constantly coming around to get you new refreshments ranging from basic soft drinks to beers, wine, mixed drinks and cocktails such as pina colada’s.
When it was time to eat, I couldn’t believe how much of a selection was offered. I have been on many cruises before and you usually have about 5-6 options, but never three counters worth of options. I’m just glad that I was hungry, so that I could try a number of dishes. There were different kinds of chicken, fish, beef, salads, vegetables, pasta, noodles… you name it, they had it. After I stocked up my plate, the sun was beginning to set, which worked out brilliantly. I had the option of eating inside the boat at the tables provided or on the deck which was ideal for a sunset cruise!
Once the sun set, we began to slowly head back to shore while snacking on some refreshing papaya and watermelon to wash down the delicious main course. If only the sunset could have lasted longer, as I could have watched it for hours!
Side note: If you are looking for a place to stay in Langkawi, the owners of Crystal Yacht have a B&B that they call “The Love Shack”. This newly restored 130 year old house is perfect for couples, hence the name 😉 Click here for more information!
**Thank you Crystal Yachts for hosting me on a sunset dinner cruise in Langkawi. As always, my opinions are my own.
