My friend and I were trying to decide upon a place to go for a fun girls weekend getaway and then it hit us… Boston! I have never visited the city before and it is only a 4 hour train ride from New York City, so it was an easy choice. We wanted a hotel that was both convenient and luxurious, so we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Boston. I knew it was close to everything, but didn’t realize how close! It was a five minute walk from the train and surrounded by tons of restaurants and shopping. If you walk a little further, you reach many of the main attractions such as Boston Common, the State House, New England Aquarium and Quincy Market. I could walk to almost everywhere I wanted to go!
Besides an ideal location, the hotel itself is spectacular with its beautiful modern decor. We arrived at our room to find an assortment of breads and cheeses, along with a bottle of wine and chocolates on the pillows. Not a bad way to start off a trip!
Usually when you stay at a hotel, they give you complimentary shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc but I felt spoiled with extra items they provided such as dermatologist approved face creams and foot lotions.
The beds were dangerously comfortable. Once I sat on it, all I wanted to do was lay down and sleep! There was too much of the city to see, so I had to force myself to get up.. no time for napping! When it was finally bedtime, I remember lying in the bed and it suddenly being time to wake up. I can’t remember the last time I fell asleep so fast!
After another day out, we were pleasantly surprised with another bottle of wine and two bottles of Perrier in our room. Perfect way to unwind after a long afternoon of sightseeing.
If you are in the mood for a relaxing swim, there’s a 52-foot indoor, heated, saline swimming pool. Afterwards, you can dry off by sitting out on the sun deck. Sounds pretty ideal! Adjacent from the pool is a 24 hour fitness center, so you don’t have to lose out on your routine (or if you just work off some clam chowder!).
The custom service goes above and beyond. We weren’t sure where to go for brunch in the city, so we asked the concierge for help. Not only did he give us multiple restaurants but he drew directions on a map and wrote all of the names down in each location they were. He even told us restaurants in different parts of the city, since we were going to wander into different areas. It was incredibly helpful and his suggestions worked out great. The food was delicious!
The Avenue One restaurant in the hotel is a must. We went for dinner and were blown away with flavor. Since we were in New England, we had to order seafood. My friend Juliet got the honey glazed salmon and I tried baked haddock for the first time. Ahhhhmazing!!
We were stuffed but still had to try the dessert. It was hard to choose but I figured, Boston cream pie in Boston.. why not!? It did not disappoint! At the end, the combination of my food coma and the giant cushioned seats almost put me to sleep. I could have easily knocked out in those chairs, it was like a giant bed! Want to hear more about it? Newly rennovated, exceptional customer service, delicious restaurant and in the heart of Boston.. you can’t go wrong with the Hyatt Regency Boston. Another perk is that the hotel is very animal friendly, offering pet-hosting to guests. One of their hardest workers, Remi a Boston Terrier, walks around the hotel ensuring everything is up to speed! He sends his fellow pups a doggie bed and complimentary lobster flavored treat when they check in. I got to see him in action and he does not let anything fall through the cracks! 😛
**Thank you Hyatt Recency Boston for hosting us. As always, my opinions are my own.
