I was immediately drawn to Hotel Luna Llena in Tamarindo, Costa Rica after seeing pictures of the adorable bungalows that reminded me of tiki huts! Not only is this hotel charming with its unique style and bright colors, but it is close to everything in Tamarindo, even though when you are there it is incredibly peaceful and is surrounded by nature. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach and main strip, so you get the best of both worlds, the peace away from the noisy strip and the convenience of getting to it in a matter of minutes. I did not have a car so this was a major plus for me.
I actually stayed in one of their standard rooms, but if you choose to stay in one of the bungalows, they are fully furnished and have their own kitchen. The standard room was a really good size and had it’s own air conditioning, which is extremely important in 90 degree weather! Almost every time I walked around the hotel, I could see beautiful birds and could also hear the howler monkeys howling from the branches outside my room, I even managed to spot a couple of the noisy little cuties.
The hotels beautiful pool has a bar attached to it with bar stools in the water. Now that’s how I like to vacation! Nothing beats relaxing in a pool, in perfect weather with a nice cold drink in my hand. If you get hungry, there is an Italian restaurant by the pool that you can order from. Breakfast is included so I chose to have a typical Costa Rican breakfast with eggs, rice and beans and a tortilla to wrap up it all in, which was just delicious. The restaurant has outdoor seating options so I got to enjoy the sunny breeze as I fueled up for my day exploring the town.
**Thank you Hotel Luna Llena for my stay. As always, my opinions are my own.
