When you are on vacation, you obviously want the best holiday possible. Thankfully, there are resorts like PARKROYAL Penang that make a truly unforgettable vacation, without you having to put a lot of effort into organizing it. Whether you are traveling with a family, solo, on a romantic getaway or on a business trip (I only wish my business trips took me to places like this!), this Malaysian resort has at least one thing that almost anyone would love, such as daytime pool fun to nighttime cocktail lounging. No matter what you decide to do, you will be fully entertained when you stay at PARKROYAL Penang resort.
1) Great Location
It is perfectly located along Batu Ferringhi beach, this area is basically the epicenter of everywhere you would want to go when staying here. The airport is 45 minutes away and Georgetown, the city’s center is only 20 minutes away. Right by the resort is a hugely popular night market that is filled with delicious restaurants, street food and souvenir vendors.
2) Luxurious Rooms
My room was fabulous with a spacious bedroom, living room and my own private garden, which had sun chairs and a view of the pool area below. I have had nice balconies before, but nothing quite like this! It was the perfect place for me to get work done as well, since it was an incredibly peaceful and relaxing spot.
3) Swimming Pool Options
There are two pools, one geared towards children and one for adults only. The reason why I say it is “geared” towards children is because it is not a children only pool, as many adults wandered into the pool to fly down the waterslides! After all, adults like to have fun too!
However, when you are ready for some peace and quiet, head over to the adult pool. I had a great time floating around in the pool without any yelling or splashing in my face. I might have spent a little too much time lounging and sipping on cocktails from the Sunset Bar. Not a bad way to spend a day!
4) Ideal Beach
Take a dip in the water or sign up for some exciting beach activities such as parasailing and jet-skiing. You can also get a massage outside in a traditional massage hut, which gives you a truly serine experience. Later on, I suggest taking a walk along the beach during sunset as it has the most perfect view!
5) Fun Night Entertainment
On the resort is Javana Lounge, which has live music nightly, so it is the ideal place to unwind with a cocktail and have an evening snack. You can also hangout in the lounge in the day as it opens at 11am.
Tamarind Brasserie not only has delicious food, but it feels as though you are eating outside, as the perimeter of the walls of the restaurant are open, so you can dine in the shade without affecting your view. You can choose from the a la carte menu or eat from the buffet. I decided to skip the buffet and try a made to order traditional Malaysian dish. I went with the Chicken Rice since I was told that was the most popular Malaysian meal, it proved to be a good choice as it was unbelievably tasty. When it was time for dessert, I saw they had bread pudding, which is one of my favorite desserts in New York so I had to get it! I paired it with a Vanilla Caramel Ice Cream Coffee, which blended perfectly with it.
Come back in the morning for the breakfast buffet ranging in both American and Asian selections. My favorite was the heart shaped eggs! Nothing beats a little love in the morning 😉
Uncle Zack By the Beach is the ideal place to dine while watching the sunset or have a romantic meal, as you can sit on a wooden deck overlooking the beach.
Cool Bananas Poolside Cafe is great stop for a pool break or if you don’t want to leave your precious sun, you can order directly from the waiter, so you don’t have to take a break from precious tanning time! If you do decide to go inside the cafe, there is also a lounging area where you can watch television, play pool or hangout in the arcade in the back room.
Now you can easily see why the PARKROYAL Penang is the perfect Malaysian holiday resort. It has everything you need both in and around the hotel. You can rest assured that I am going to check the next country I visit to see if there is a PARKROYAL in the area!
**Thank you PARKROYAL Penang for hosting me. However, opinions as always, are my own.
